All comps are duly noted and detailed
Every hotel reviewed on this site was booked by StayAbilene. While some properties extended discounted rates, complimentary stays, and even comped meals, none received special treatment in exchange. In a perfect world, no niceties would have been accepted; however, StayAbilene operates on a thin budget, and must yield to the graciousness of fellow Abileneans.
No hotel pays to be listed
Hotels cannot pay to appear on this site, be specifically reviewed, or be favorably ranked. There are no listing fees nor "featured" placements. If advertising comes, it, like comped stays, will not impact a property's score.
No affiliate revenue
This site does not currently earn affiliate commissions from booking links. If that changes, it will be disclosed on this page with the date the policy changed.
Hotels have no editorial input
Hotels will be provided draft reviews prior to publication. Though they may not change any conclusions or scores, property managers are encouraged to submit any factual corrections that may arise. StayAbilene will independently review the contested information, and will either accept the change in full, accept the change in part, or reject the change in its entirety. A Justification Report will be generated to address the contested information. There are no further appeals available at this time.
Scores are not negotiated
A hotel's score reflects the stay as experienced. It cannot be changed by request, by a subsequent stay at a different property, or by any commercial arrangement.
Re-reviews may be scheduled
If a hotel undergoes significant renovation or changes ownership, a re-review may be scheduled. The original review remains published until the re-review is complete.

No application required
Hotels are selected for review based on availability and the reviewer's travel schedule. There is no waitlist, no application, and no fee.
Factual corrections welcome
If a review contains a factual error — wrong room type, incorrect amenity, outdated information — contact us. Corrections are investigated and applied where warranted.
Score disputes are not accepted
Hotels may not request a score change based on disagreement. The score reflects the stay as experienced. If conditions have genuinely improved, a re-review may be scheduled.
